Spring is in the air, and everyone is feeling a little stir crazy around here. So on April 16th,  Placer Biz TweetUp is hitting the road! Don’t worry, we’re not going far. Look out Dono dal Cielo, here we come!

Placer County is home to some of the premier wineries in all of California, and this month we’re lucky enough to have the fine folks from Dono dal Cielo winery hosting the April 2013 TweetUp. You may remember them from the last TweetUp at Von Housen Mercedes Benz where they were pouring two of their delectable wines.

Dono dal Cielo is located at 6100 Wise Road in Newcastle, just a few scenic twists and turns away from Highway 65, 193 or Interstate 80. The winery is about to turn 11 years old this month, and we’re lucky enough to get a taste of what they’ve been working on all these years.

Of course, what would a Placer Biz TweetUp be without some amazing appetizers to nosh on while you sip your wine. Bella Familia Pizza is rolling out their wood fired oven to bake up some fresh, hot pizza pie right on site.

Owner, Scott Thorson uses organic flour in his homemade dough, and his choice of toppings include as many local ingredients as possible. This month we really get to taste the local flavor, all the way around!

The rolling hills of the Placer County Wine Trail are the perfect backdrop to sip your Zin or Sauvignon Blanc, and nibble some pizza pie while you rub elbows with all your favorite TweetUp folks.

Happy New Year!

It’s time again to come out to the Placer Biz TweetUp.

This month we will be gathering at Origin Coffee & Tea, 2168 Sunset Blvd. in Rocklin, Tuesday, January 15th from 6pm-8pm.

Origin Coffee & Tea is not only our host, but this month’s featured nonprofit organization. Origin was started to help aid in the horrific battle against Human Trafficking. The shop is run by volunteers who are asked to give a minimum of 4 hours a week for 3 months. These are people working for free to help this important cause. You can easily sign up to give a little time, but if that won’t work for your schedule, you can simply patronize the shop. It’s spacious and comfortable, offering free wifi and is open from 6:30am-11pm each day.

This month’s Placer Biz TWEETUP is filled with reasons that you won’t want to miss it! First of all, we will be meeting at High Steaks Steak House at Thunder Valley Casino Resort on Tuesday, October 16th at 6 pm. That alone should peak your interest and have your taste buds begging you to register. High Steaks recently received the coveted and prestigious Four Diamond Award by AAA.

We can’t wait to be able to sample some Four Diamond Goodness! Additionally, this month’s featured nonprofit is the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce. Check out their website to learn more about this great organization.

It’s that time again! Grab your business cards and come out to the Placer Business TweetUp! This month we will be meeting on Tuesday, August 21st at Boneshaker Public House, in Rocklin from 6pm-8pm.

To get the vibe of Boneshaker, I grabbed another member of the TweetUp team and we headed out to taste the wares and sample the beers. Not being regular beer drinkers, we relied heavily on the recommendations of the staff. We sampled about four of the beers on tap and as our reactions were judged, a creation of a beer and a floater were presented to each of us. I must say that Cherry Coke came to mind.

We ordered from the menu of delicous offerings and dug into some extra creamy and delicous Mac N Cheese (I would be in some serious caloric trouble if Mac N Cheese from a box came anywhere close to this dish!) and a Cuban flat bread that made me excited to be going back for more!

Happy Hour pricing will be extended througout the time of the TweetUp. Don’t hesitate to come in and try several of the offerings!

The Placer Business TweetUp is a monthly gathering of local Business Owners and Enteprenuers who meet to network, learn better ways of marketing their business and ideas in the Social Media realm and to support local restaurants and gathering places. We gather once a month, generally on the 2nd Tuesday from 6pm-8pm.

Ever hear of The Place?  If not, you’re missing out.  Great ambiance, delicious Italian food, great drinks and a super friendly staff.  Which is why we decided to hold February’s Placer Business Tweetup there.

Nearly all of the more than 40 Tweetup attendees had never been to  The Place, which gave them the opportunity to introduce all of us to  their food and drink menus.

After a good deal of networking and conversation, the Placer Business Tweetup team raffled off a few sponsored items from businesses in the Placer community.

Afterwards, the networking continued for a couple of hours, with many saying this was the best Tweetup yet.

A friend and I headed over there yesterday to have some lunch and get a feel for the vibe of the place. Our plan was to be able to bring you a little of the goodness that we’ve heard they offer. We were hungry and ready! There was just one problem-the door was locked tight! Had we done a little homework, we would’ve known that The Place is open for business Wed-Sun. Do like we did, show up on a Tues afternoon for lunch, and you’ll end up an Outsider. We were stuck drooling over the menu posted in the window.
